What Trim Presses Can Do
Trim presses are perfect for trimming, piercing and coining, and straightening. Many trim presses are equipped with adjustable rams to easily increase or decrease the shut height. The controls for these machines are reliable, precise and designed for ease-of-use.
Trim presses remove excess material from the parts produced by die-casting equipment. In die-casting, the press heats metal, then forces the liquid metal into a mold called a die. The machine cools the metal, so the operator can remove the part and the excess material from the die. This excess material, called gate or flashing, is trapped in the injection port when the mold fills.
