This complete 125 MW power plant is currently installed where it operated as a peaker from 2015 to 2020 after being rebuilt and upgraded.
The gas turbine was overhauled in 2014 and the company doing the work also provided spare hot parts, both new and remanufactured to support the new installation. These parts are stored in the power plant warehouse.
The 501D-5 gas turbine generator (ISO 112 MW) was manufactured by Westinghouse and delivered in 1982. Since the overhaul, the plant has logged around 6,500 hours and 278 starts. The power plant was installed with new ABB controls, steam injection and a Mee Fog system and operated as a peaking unit from 2015 to 2020 as mentioned above.
In addition to the spare parts at site, there are components of a spare rotor included in this price. The bladed compressor rotor is intact, but the turbine section is disassembled along with the turbine blades. Ethos Energy inspected the rotor and determined the hot section needed to be replaced.
The power plant has not operated since 2020. The turbine generator has not been operated on turning gear in several years. However, the site is in the high desert, so little to no deterioration has been found.
