This is a Hi-Speed machine equipped with Flying Shear and Air Clutch. It has six pneumatically regulated rolls prior to Arbor entry and 10 pneumatically regulated rolls on the exit side of the arbor.

The factors that enable the Lewis FHA series of machines to produce an absolutely uniform straight and cut product at high production rates are the application of advanced engineering and the Lewis Machine Company's long experience in the field.

Flying-Shear Cut-Off:
High speed synchronized Flying Shear cut-off made possible by utilizing a positive linkage, with a variable speed flywheel and air clutch and brake.

Wide Feed Selection:
A transmission having a wide range of feed speeds is necessary to process round stock of various diameters at their optimum speed for highest quality.

Dual-Center, Two-Speed Straightener Arbor:
Positive straightening action on various diameters require the correct bending moment and RPM of the straightener arbor. The FHA design of two straightener die positions with two straightener arbor speeds satisfies this requirement.

Pneumatic Feed Roll Pressure:
Pneumatic pressure assures positive control of the Feed Roll loads for each requirement.

A Low Inertia Electric Tripping System is accomplished by having the moving stock actuate a switch lever...adjustable to any length required.
